Confirmation has arrived for a third installment in the "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" horror series, following the unexpectedly stellar debut of the second movie on Rotten Tomatoes. More adventures from the Pooh-verse are promised, with a lineup expanding to include more characters.
Reports from Variety indicate that the budget for this upcoming third entry will surpass those of its predecessors. Fans can anticipate a sinister take on beloved characters such as Rabbit, the Woozles, and the Heffalumps, adding a darker twist to the story.
The initial movie in the "Blood and Honey" series garnered a mere 3% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics, while its successor achieved an initially perfect rating, now adjusted to 53%. This represents a significant boost in reception.
In addition, a fascinating project titled "Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble" is being developed, featuring a nightmarish assembly of familiar characters - Tinkerbell, Tigger, Piglet, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, and The Mad Hatter - in a horror-themed narrative.
"We dream of an 'Avengers' comprised exclusively of antagonists," shared Scott Chambers from Jagged Edge Production. He hinted at a dream team including iconic villains like Freddy Krueger and Jason, which, while improbable in mainstream cinema, is being creatively pursued in their projects.
Rhys Frake-Waterfield is set to direct the continuation of the "Blood and Honey" saga, with Pooh and Piglet wreaking havoc alongside new characters Owl and Tigger. The production company is also developing several other projects, such as "Bambi: The Reckoning" and "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare," culminating in "Monsters Assemble."
