Thunderful has released an exciting trailer for SteamWorld Heist 2, offering fans a glimpse at the enhancements in the sequel to the beloved turn-based tactical RPG. Staying true to its roots, the game maintains its signature side-scrolling style, cover-based shooting mechanics, and the strategic element of precise shot ricocheting to defeat foes.
The game introduces a diverse range of Job roles, including the Sniper known for accuracy, the Flanker specializing in strategic positioning, and the Brawler who excels in endurance and close combat. Weapons can alter these Job roles, offering flexible gameplay dynamics. Completing missions rewards players with Cogs that can be allocated to enhance specific Job skills, allowing them to remain active even when switching between roles.
This system opens up myriad combinations, like merging the Flanker’s agility with the Brawler’s robustness or combining a Sniper’s sharpshooting with a Boomer’s powerful area damage. With over 150 weapons, utility gears, equipment, and unique character abilities, players have extensive options for customizing their squads.
Scheduled to launch on August 8, SteamWorld Heist 2 is set to debut across various platforms such as Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Additionally, it will be featured on Game Pass starting from its initial release day.
