The renowned Golden Sun saga and its follow-up, The Lost Age, are set to make their entry into Nintendo Switch Online's Game Boy Advance assortment next week. On their online forum, Nintendo has affirmed the arrival of these two timeless classics, both popular Game Boy Advance titles. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers who have opted for the higher-tier Expansion Pack can access the game from January 17 onwards.
A promotional trailer mirroring the captivating elements of these noteworthy GBA games accompanied Nintendo's announcement. It highlights a brief introduction to each game's storyline besides featuring their emphasis on high-intensity warfare and world puzzle resolution.
Golden Sun, launched originally in 2001, gained rapid popularity courtesy of its remarkable 32-bit graphics, which also support sweeping film camera outlooks during combat. The game's Psynergy framework was notably impressive, enabling players to employ their acquired spells in the external world to resolve multiple puzzles. In addition, players could summon Djinn mates, which, when outfitted, could dramatically alter a party member's stats, thereby offering a party customization level almost equivalent to the famed Materia scheme of Final Fantasy 7.
The inclusion of Golden Sun and its sequel to the Nintendo Switch's Game Boy Advance collection adds to the growing lineup that has been building since early last year. This carefully selected catalog includes various other portable classics such as Kuru Kuru Kururin, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, etc. Future extensions to the GBA library, like the F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, are hinted too.
