Gradually yet steadily, the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise has been gaining traction on Steam, culminating in its most successful launch day to date just last week, with its popularity continuing to soar ever since.
The previous record for simultaneous players within the series was set by last year's release, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which peaked at 13,737 players. That record has been utterly shattered by Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. As reported by SteamDB, an impressive 46,161 players were immersed in Ichiban Kasuga's exploits in Hawaii over the weekend.
